Shift Premium: Night - $2.75 for each hour worked between 11 PM and 7 AM

Air Canada is currently seeking dynamic individuals to fill temporary full-time positions as Auxiliary Equipment Mechanic - Ground Material.

The incumbent must possess the following skills:

  • Well-versed in the procedures and equipment used by skilled workers and able to perform general maintenance work requiring basic manual skills.
  • Work alone or, as needed, assist mechanics in the installation or maintenance of ground equipment.
  • Perform heavy work both indoors and outdoors.
  • Must be a team player with written and oral communication skills; customer-oriented and able to work in a demanding environment.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma.
  • Practical knowledge and/or experience in general maintenance of ground support equipment (GSE), and/or automotive, agricultural, or heavy industrial equipment, including welding experience.
  • Successful completion of the pre-employment examination.
  • Possession of a valid driver's licence.
  • Obtaining the Montreal Airports (ADM) driver's licence (DA) for driving motor vehicles in the restricted traffic area (airside).
  • Availability to work days, evenings, or nights as well as weekends.
  • Demonstrate punctuality and reliability to support the team's overall success in a fast-paced environment.
  • Employees in this position perform safety-sensitive work, and as such, Air Canada's medical standards must be met to qualify for this position. Candidates will be subject to a medical evaluation, including drug and alcohol testing, and must be free of any intoxicating substances.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain all applicable transport security clearances and other additional accreditations, depending on the workplace. Please refer to Transport Canada's website for more details.
  • Candidates must be eligible to work in the country concerned at the time a job offer is presented and are responsible for obtaining necessary work permits, visas, or other authorizations. Proof of eligibility must be provided before the start date.

Language Requirements

All things being equal, the position will be awarded to a bilingual candidate (French and English).
