Job Summary:

The Aircraft Assembler / Fitter has the mission to carry out assembly operations (assemble, fit, and install modules and prefabricated sub-assemblies to build aircraft). Starting from a technical file, a manufacturing process sheet in paper or digital format, and a kit of primary parts, the Aircraft Assembler / Fitter must independently or as part of a team assemble an aircraft structure while performing quality work that complies with the standards and procedures of Airbus Atlantique Canada and the client.

Your Challenges:

• Read and interpret manufacturing and installation drawings, plan, trace various shape patterns, cut, shape, assemble, and adjust sheet metal and plate parts or any other shape used in structure and assembly;
• Perform all operations necessary for the assembly, adjustment, repair, modification, and installation of all types of mechanical, electromechanical, and hydraulic parts and/or assemblies, manufacture parts, and perform complex adjustments;
• Consult and interpret aircraft assembly diagrams;
• Manufacture simple aircraft structure parts;
• Install aircraft structure elements;
• Assemble and adjust, from a manufacturing file, the assembly of structural sub-assemblies and assemblies of Airframes and Aircraft Systems;
• Assemble and install mechanical parts and elements of an aircraft;
• Assemble, adjust, and install prefabricated parts or elements such as skins, flight controls, assemblies, hydraulic systems, and other mechanical systems on aircraft;
• Set up and use manual or automated machines and tools depending on the work to be performed;
• Verify, using measurement and inspection instruments, aircraft assemblies against technical prescriptions;
• Ensure, through various inspection means, the conformity of assemblies against the manufacturing file.

Your Profile:

• DEP (Diploma of Vocational Studies) in Structure Assembly or System Installation OR Possess a minimum of 5 years of experience as an Assembler/Fitter in the aeronautics field or a related assembly field AND Pass an evaluation demonstrating basic technical skills;
• Good technical knowledge in structure assembly and system installation;
• Mastery of aeronautical technical language and technical drawing reading;
• Relevant knowledge of FOD (Foreign Object Debris/Damage) management;
• Good manual skills and very good dexterity;
• Good visual acuity;
• Meticulousness and precision, good reflexes, ease of concentration, and attention to detail (assembly or manufacturing of high-precision components);
• Analytical capacity to quickly find a defect or any other problem;
• Sense of responsibility (part conformity);
• Ease of teamwork (multidisciplinary team: assembly-mechanics, aircraft mechanics, other technicians, engineers);
• Experience in the aerospace industry.

• Conventional hourly wage for 5 to 7 years of experience: between $34.88 and $42.90;
• Working language: French;
• In-person work;
• Workplace: 12 000, rue Henry-Giffard, Mirabel (Quebec) J7N 1H4;
• Deferred compensation: $1.55/hour worked, paid 2 times per year (July and December) after completing your probation period of 600 hours worked;
• Schedule: Monday to Thursday (05:50 to 14:20). You may be required to work the evening shift from Monday to Thursday (14:20 to 00:50). In this case, you will be eligible for an evening premium of $1.05 as long as you are assigned to the evening shift.
