As Chief Operating Officer - Airports, you will play an important leadership role in realizing our ambition to become one of the top 10 airlines in the world. Your priority will be to ensure that our airline meets or exceeds customer expectations regarding their experience with us. By dedicating yourself to customer service excellence and striving to warmly welcome our customers, you will help create a safe, positive, and supportive environment and be able to anticipate and meet our customers' needs, while proactively and empathetically coaching our front-line team.

As Chief Operating Officer - Airports, you will have the opportunity to work in various sectors such as: the Station Operations Center, airside areas and the ramp, baggage services, terminal operations as well as interactions and management of ground service providers at the station. In all sectors, you will be responsible for managing the customer experience and providing leadership to our front-line employees.

Responsibilities:

  • Represent our brand and embody our Company's vision for customer service excellence.
  • Get to know our internal and external customers to be able to anticipate their needs and deliver on our promise.
  • Take charge of customers in difficult situations.
  • Establish and maintain relationships of trust. Promote employee development and empowerment by coaching and supporting the team to bring out their best.
  • Willingness and ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions;
  • Work indoors and outdoors as needed.
  • Work in a 24/7 airport operating environment that sometimes requires working shifts, weekends, and holidays.
  • The incumbent will be based at SAN airport, with additional supervision of SNA and PSP operations.

Qualifications

  • Possess at least a high school diploma.
  • At least two years of personnel management experience.
  • Possess a valid driver's license to travel as needed.
  • Valid passport to travel (including overnight international travel) as needed.
  • Ability to demonstrate managerial courage to make difficult decisions to ensure the integrity, safety, and punctuality of operations.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule (24/7 airport operating environment - shift work, weekends, and holidays).
  • Ability to obtain airport-specific badges and seals (Security and USCBP clearances required).
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs.
  • Ability to walk long distances and stand for long periods.
  • Ability to quickly make effective decisions in stressful situations.
  • Excellent interpersonal relationships (within the organization and the team).
  • Entrepreneurial spirit and autonomy.
  • Sincere desire to create and promote a customer and employee experience worthy of one of the top 10 airlines in the world.
  • Ability to build trust while providing performance coaching to front-line employees.
  • Energetic and tenacious business-oriented attitude.
  • Ability to adapt to new technologies and share knowledge in this area.
  • Customs seal is required; subject to approval by U.S. Customs and Border Protection or an equivalent third party.
  • Security and USCBP clearances required.

Conditions of Employment:

  • Candidates must be eligible to work in the country concerned at the time a job offer is made and are responsible for obtaining work permits, visas, or other necessary authorizations. Proof of eligibility must be provided prior to the start date.
