Job Description

Reporting to the Senior Director, Finance, the Director – Financial Reporting and Optimization acts as a key strategic player within Air Transat's finance function.

A true change agent and mobilizing leader, you will drive the evolution and continuous improvement of financial processes to support the organization's growth and performance.

As a leading business partner, you will collaborate closely with multidisciplinary teams as well as financial and operational managers to transform financial data into high-value decision-making levers.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure the leadership, mobilization, and development of a team of financial analysts, fostering a collaborative, rigorous, and excellence-driven environment
  • Ensure the proper functioning of accounting activities and maintain strong internal controls for Air Transat's air costs and balance sheet
  • Coordinate and review accounting provisions related to aircraft leases and aeronautical components, in compliance with IFRS 16
  • Supervise the consolidation of financial information for the Corporation's results, for both statutory and management needs, and guarantee its reliability
  • Drive the budgeting process, financial planning, and in-depth analysis of the sectors under your responsibility (maintenance, capital assets, IFRS 16)
  • Supervise the preparation and review of Air Transat's statutory financial statements, ensuring their accuracy and compliance
  • Ensure the ongoing application of IFRS standards for complex situations, particularly related to maintenance, and lead the implementation of new accounting standards
  • Play a key role in implementing innovative solutions and continuous improvement initiatives for the finance function
  • Develop and maintain strong business relationships with managers and act as a strategic partner and advisor
  • Take leadership of special projects with a financial scope and actively contribute to strategic decision-making

Qualifications

  • CPA professional accountant designation – required
  • Minimum of 7 years of personnel management experience in a financial context
  • Experience within a large corporation; experience in the aviation industry is a distinct asset
  • In-depth knowledge of IFRS standards and their practical application
  • Excellent command of Microsoft Office suite tools
  • Recognized leadership and strong influence among diverse stakeholders
  • Proven experience in change management and organizational transformation
  • High ability to analyze complex situations and take a stand quickly
  • Oral and written mastery of French and English *

*A good command of French is required for positions in Quebec. The incumbent will be required to communicate frequently in English, orally and in writing, with colleagues, clients, or other stakeholders both in Quebec and internationally.
