Aeronautical Machinist - Conventional Machines

The aeronautical machinist is responsible for performing various machining operations on parts intended for the aeronautical sector, using conventional machine tools. They ensure compliance with drawings, technical specifications, and quality standards applicable to the aerospace industry.

Main responsibilities:

  • Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and manufacturing sheets to determine appropriate machining methods;
  • Perform machining operations on conventional machines such as lathes, milling machines, drills, and other workshop equipment;
  • Prepare, set up, and adjust machines, cutting tools, and holding devices necessary for part manufacturing;
  • Perform necessary adjustments to ensure the precision and conformity of machined parts;
  • Measure and inspect parts using precision measuring instruments such as vernier calipers, micrometers, gauges, and other control tools;
  • Perform necessary adjustments and corrections during production;
  • Comply with dimensional tolerances, technical requirements, and quality standards of the aerospace sector;
  • Identify and report any non-conformity or anomaly detected during machining or inspection;
  • Perform basic machine maintenance and keep the workstation clean and safe;
  • Complete production documents and ensure traceability of operations performed;
  • Comply with health and safety procedures as well as internal company standards and procedures;
  • Collaborate with production, quality, and methods teams to ensure smooth operations.

Profile sought:

  • DEP in machining or equivalent training;
  • Relevant experience in conventional machining, ideally in the aerospace sector;
  • Good ability to read and interpret technical drawings;
  • Good knowledge of precision measuring instruments;
  • Meticulousness, precision, and attention to detail;
  • Autonomy, resourcefulness, and ability to work in a team;
  • Sense of responsibility and compliance with quality and safety standards.
