Main functions

  • Perform preventive maintenance, routine upkeep, and minor repairs of mechanical equipment, including hangar doors, rolling doors, fire doors, etc.
  • Install, dismantle, repair, and reassemble machinery using welding equipment, hand tools, and power tools.
  • Perform building inspections to ensure compliance with building code standards.
  • Work safely, in accordance with industry standards, while performing various tasks related to facilities.
  • Work autonomously or in a team, under pressure and on rotating shifts, including weekends and on call.

Qualifications

  • DEP (Diploma of Vocational Studies) mandatory;
  • Valid driver's license with clean record mandatory;
  • Interprovincial Journeyman Millwright license or Interprovincial Qualification Certificate (Red Seal), an asset;
  • At least five years of experience in the field;
  • Basic computer skills (Word, Excel, email, and Internet);
  • Knowledge of building mechanics, hangar door systems, control systems, property management systems (Trane/Siemens), mechanical system operation, MIG welding, CMMS (computerized maintenance management system);
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills and attention to detail;
  • Punctuality and reliability to support the overall success of the team in a fast-paced environment;
  • Ability to meet Air Canada's medical standards as part of a medical examination;
  • Employment is conditional upon meeting Transport Canada security requirements and obtaining a Restricted Area Identity Card (RAIC) and an Airside Vehicle Operator's Permit (AVOP); Please consult the Transport Canada website for more details.
