Responsibilities

• Reporting to the foreman, you arc weld, trace, cut, shape, and assemble parts according to drawings and specifications;
• You set up and maintain your equipment, replace electrode wires, place joints, and work with patterns and jigs to ensure flawless execution.
• You validate airtightness, operate profile-cutting machines, ensure the assembly, alignment, and straightening of components, and deliver straight, solid structures compliant with quality and OHS standards.

Requirements and qualifications

• DEP in welding-fitting OR;
• Experience in welding
• CWB 4 positions cards, FCAW-M (CSA W47.1-M) Marine
• Reliability status

Additional info:

A CWB FCAW-M (Marine) competence card (according to the CSA W47.1-M standard) for the 4 positions qualifies a welder to perform flux-cored arc welding operations with gas shielding (Flux-Core) in all orientations: flat (1F/1G), horizontal (2F/2G), vertical (3F/3G), and overhead (4F/4G).

• Day: 4 days x 10 hours week
• Evening: 4 days x 10 hours week
• Weekend: 3 days x 12 hours week (paid 40 hours)

Specific safety conditions (Government requirement)

Due to the nature of federal and military contracts executed at the shipyard, the selected candidate must:

• Be eligible to obtain a security clearance from the Government of Canada's Contract Security Program (CSP).
• Hold a history of continuous residence in Canada (generally the last 5 years).

You must be available for all shifts. Although we take your schedule preferences (day, evening, weekend) into account when creating schedules, they cannot be guaranteed.
