Position Objective: The Avionics Supervisor will be responsible for overseeing functions assigned to the maintenance, repair, and overhaul of aircraft and components, parts, and accessories in accordance with company policies, procedures, and regulatory compliance, and reporting any discrepancies to the appropriate entity.
SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Coordinate all avionics maintenance activities for business aircraft;
- Work with coordinators for labor and avionics project planning;
- Work with team leads to supervise the production of all avionics activities;
- Work with the Quality Assurance department to ensure aircraft documentation is complete and correct;
- Ensure that tooling, equipment, and parts are available to maintenance personnel to effectively and safely perform assigned work;
- Review customer invoices, as needed;
- Participate in operational, maintenance, and staff meetings;
- Avionics maintenance and personnel planning;
- Play an active role in the safety management system;
- Any other assigned tasks.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:
- Aircraft Maintenance Technician diploma or equivalent, minimum; Valid Transport Canada Aircraft Maintenance Engineer (AME) license; Category E;
- Experience with a high degree of proficiency in Canadian engineering development for Transport Canada approval, SSTC, STC, SB, AD; Experience working with engineering firms and/or teams for avionics modification with associated structural upgrades;
- Certified experience with all OEM avionics products and/or systems; Rockwell Collins, Universal Avionics, Honeywell, Garmin, L-3 Communications, GoGo, etc.;
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced work environment;
- Ability to produce high-quality work both individually and within a team;
- Excellent interpersonal skills and strong communication skills; established network;
- Minimum of 8 years of experience in avionics production support.
